Wait, what?
Here's the news story, and an exclusive DT analysis below:
Double murder-accused US official Raymond Davis has been found in possession of top-secret CIA documents, which point to him or the feared American Task Force 373 (TF373) operating in the region, providing Al-Qaeda terrorists with "nuclear fissile material" and "biological agents," according to a report.Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) is warning that the situation on the sub-continent has turned "grave" as it appears that open warfare is about to break out between Pakistan and the United States, The European Union Times reports.
The SVR warned in its report that the apprehension of 36-year-old Davis, who shot dead two Pakistani men in Lahore last month, had fuelled this crisis.
According to the report, the combat skills exhibited by Davis, along with documentation taken from him after his arrest, prove that he is a member of US' TF373 black operations unit currently operating in the Afghan War Theatre and Pakistan's tribal areas, the paper said.
While the US insists that Davis is one of their diplomats, and the two men he killed were robbers, Pakistan says that the duo were ISI agents sent to follow him after it was discovered that he had been making contact with al Qaeda, after his cell phone was tracked to the Waziristan tribal area bordering Afghanistan, the paper said.
The most ominous point in this SVR report is "Pakistan's ISI stating that top-secret CIA documents found in Davis's possession point to his, and/or TF373, providing to al Qaeda terrorists "nuclear fissile material" and "biological agents", which they claim are to be used against the United States itself in order to ignite an all-out war in order to re-establish the West's hegemony over a Global economy that is warned is just months away from collapse," the paper added. Ok, so the story goes: this guy Davis was arrested after shooting two guys on motorcycles in Pakistan. His (and the CIA's) official story is that they were robbers, and it was self defense. Well, supposedly one of those guys was 10 meters away, and was shot in the back, which, if true, sorta makes that defense difficult.
That's the old news. The new news is that the Russian SVR (ex-KGB) and the Pakistani ISI claim Davis had documents on him showing that he was in the middle of transferring nuclear and biological material to Al Qaeda.
Here are a few possibilities of what is going on:
1) Davis is a rouge agent, operating on his own for twisted purposes. CIA needed to reign him in, and may have burned him, gave his location to Pakistan, and let the ISI capture him. He is a highly trained CIA operative, and the ISI got three of their agents killed in the attempt. The CIA may have burned him a second time after he got away that first time, because it is still unclear how the ISI finally did capture him.
2) The CIA wants us to think Davis is a rogue agent (for purposes of their own), frames him, and burns him, turning him in to the ISI. I've actually seen this happen before, in the Bourne Supremacy. But seriously, the idea here is that Davis is not truly bad, but needs to be reigned in by the CIA who couldn't get to him, and resorted to burning him to a foreign intelligence agency.
3) The transfer of nuclear and biological knowhow is being transferred to Al-Qaeda (AQ) officially by the CIA. Wow, that's horrible. Why would they possibly do that? Perhaps to start a civil war between AQ and Pakistan? Perhaps to frame India using a mega-terrorist attack against Pakistan in order to start a regional (nuclear?) war between India and Pakistan. Again, why? Perhaps to divert AQ from attacking the US? That is, the US says to AQ: we'll give you insane weapons, but you must use them on Pakistan, not on us. What could possibly go wrong with that genius plan?
4) This one is the hardest to contemplate: the CIA and Obama are officially assisting AQ in creating a mega-terrorist attack in the US. Why? Perhaps as a raison d'être to whupping Pakistan's butt? Perhaps to create a focus on something other than the US and world economy failing? After all, WWII pulled the US out of the Great Depression. Maybe this administration needs a mega-terror attack and subsequent war that the entire country can get behind. (Yikes!) And if the entire country is behind the army, the war, and Obama, he will get reelected in 2012. (A mite crazy, I acknowledge, I'm just putting it out there)
5) The Russian SVR and Pakistan's ISI is lying, and Davis is just a regular CIA guy minding his own 'business' who offed two of their agents (or "robbers") for less dramatic reasons (regular 'spy stuff'), and has nothing nuclear or biological on him. Why would Russia/Pakistan create such a huge lie that is not so believable? I can guess why Pakistan would want a diversion from the revolutions sweeping throughout the oppressive Muslim autocracies (of which Pakistan is one, albeit behind a democratic facade). Pakistan's prime minister Giliani is also holding tenuously to power, and could benefit from alienating AQ (and the Taliban), who is next in line should a revolution occur. But why would Russia lie as well? This one isn't so clear and may be chalked up to not wanted to lose arms sales across the Arab nations, or potentially lose Pakistan as an ally. Russia, though, does not appear to have been directly involved in Pakistan's rise to nuclear power, it was mainly the US, China, and the "Nuclear Salesman", A.Q. Khan. So, that line of reasoning (keep nuclear secrets quiet) does not flesh out.
6) The Indian news company ANI was fed false information from their Pakistani/Russian sources. Why? Same reason as 5 above: to unify the people under Giliani's rule, and oppose a common enemy: AQ who is working with the US to kill Pakistanis.
My estimate? The simplest and likeliest explanation is #6: it is a complete fabrication by Pakistan (supported by Russia) in order to alienate their rivals (AQ), and to unify a potentially terrified nation behind their majestic savior: Prime Minister Giliani.

You forgot #7 Fabrication by Russian Intel to weaken the US in the region (and to embarrass the US government around the world with everybody who swallowed the tale) because the Russians still see themselves as a world player, and see the US, still, as the Main Enemy.
ReplyDeleteI cannot imagine that even the Obamaniacs are stupid enough to hand over a bomb to Al-Qaida. If this Davis did hand over stuff, I'd guess it was fake or he was a mole for some other service. But I doubt he did anything of the sort.
His name is not Raymond Davis. He is actually an Israeli Agent. I suggest you start running his face on your local database.
ReplyDeleteHow about this: Davis was carrying nuclear secrets, but it had intentional errors. It would get delivered to Al-Qaida, who would transfer it to Iran and the NorKs. But ISI found out that he had nuclear stuff, and wanted it for themselves, tried to grab it, and were snuffed. So, Davis was "outed" as punishment.
ReplyDeleteBelieve you mean a rogue agent needing to be reined in.
ReplyDeleteSpellcheck can't do everything.
Michael, Agreed. No one's crazy enough for that.
ReplyDeleteNick, nice one.
Bob, thanks for that.
