The holiday of Purim begins tonight. One tradition is to eat cookies filled with ground poppy seeds called Hamentashen. Some say they were originally called "ha maan tashen" Maan (ground poppy seeds) being pereg in Hebrew. Tashen is Yiddish/German for pockets.
