Terrorist Attack near Havat Gilad Israel, not far from my home. Rabbi Raziel Shevach, a 35-year-old father of six was shot dead while driving on route 60. Shortly after 8.00pm Tuesday Evening 9th January 2018 Magen David Adom (Israel's National Ambulance & Emergency Service - MDA) received a report of the shooting and dispatched paramedics and an MDA team to the site of the attack. The victim had several wounds to his neck and upper body from a reported spray of over 20 rounds fired at his vehicle, and was taken to Meir Medical Center in Kfar Saba. The hospital said Rabbi Shevach arrived without a pulse, was not breathing and showed no signs of life. Despite the efforts of the medical team, he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival at the hospital. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu commented on the shooting, expressing his condolences to the family. "My deepest sympathy and condolences go out to the family of Raziel Shevah, who was murdered by a lowly terrorist.
