18th International Jewish Games have begun

It's called the Maccabiah (after the Maccabi family, high priests turned warriors and heroes of the Hannukka story)

The first Maccabiah boasted 390 Athletes in Delegations from 18 countries back in 1932.

The 18th Maccabiah Games begin Monday, July 13th and continue through July 24th.

The Maccabiah Games are played here in Israel every 4 years. This year over 3000 Jewish athletes from all around the globe compete in the following events.
