Gift of appreciation for a Veteran

A US Serviceman is soon to end his military enlistment, he has served two tours in Iraq & Afghanistan as a US Marine, what would be an appropriate gift?

Few tokens can properly express gratitude and appreciation--for military men & women in general--I'd like to welcome him home with a memento.

What do you recommend?

A willing young woman, a bottle of single malt, and a 1911!

A nice framed lithograph with an

engraved plaque commemorating his

years of service. There are plenty

of artists who produce military

themed work.

I received a few emails from readers as well, all recommending you show him that his courage and dedication are truly appreciated by you by investing in his future:

Co-Sign a loan for him,

Donate Money for his education,

Invest in his business venture,

etc.

If it is to be a token, then +1 on a 1911 or AR-15. Grips for all the armed forces symbols and many units are available for the 1911.

Our "gift" of appreciation (well, Major Chuck won the drawing) at he Gunblogger's Rendezvous was a double-stack 1911. :-)

I see I'm not the first to think 1911. Thank you all for your service, flurme

I was in the Marine Corps - A card that said "thank you" would be fine. Like the IDF we do what we do cause it needs to be done and we love our country. Thats it - period.
